My two children went to paid attractions every weekend for the first four weeks of last year's summer vacation. Tickets and meals alone cost an average of 2,500 yuan at a time, which was nearly 20,000 yuan a month. Later, I changed to a configuration of "60% for free activities and 40% for paid attractions." In August, the monthly expenditure dropped to just over 6,000 yuan, but the children's satisfaction was not lost - because for preschool and lower-grade children, the joy of playing in the water, running on the grass, and having a picnic is similar to that of an amusement park. 2. Free water park and water play spot: the king of summer vacation CP value
In summer, children just want to play in the water, but tickets for the water park start at 500. In fact, more and more free water facilities have been opened in various counties and cities in recent years, and most of them are open from the end of June to the beginning of September. I have actually run a few with my children, and my biggest experience is: Arrive before 9 a.m. There are fewer people, the water is clean, and the sun is not poisonous. You can play until 11 a.m. and then go home for lunch.

3. Copper-priced venues: The most cost-effective way to visit museums and science and education centers
Many people think that museums are expensive. In fact, the tickets for a lot of national museums in Taiwan are NT$20-100, and children are often free or half-price. With the air conditioning on full blast, toilets and an elevator, it’s the perfect place to go in the 35-degree afternoon temperatures of July and August. My method of visiting is "one floor at a time": a child's attention span is about 90 minutes, and greedily visiting the entire museum will only lead to a breakdown.

This is a hidden resource that most parents don’t know about. During summer, public libraries in every city and county run free storytelling sessions, craft workshops and junior-librarian programs; fire departments, police stations and environmental bureaus also host free summer experience camps. The quality is not inferior to paid camps. The only drawback is that there are few places and they are usually full on the day registration opens.
